Vice President Kashim Shettima has strongly condemned the suicide bombing at a mosque in Gamboru Market, Maiduguri, describing it as a despicable assault on innocent citizens.

In a statement released on Thursday, he emphasized that the Federal Government will not tolerate any attempts to undermine national peace. Shettima assured the public that the administration is deploying additional tactical teams to the North East to track down and apprehend those responsible for the terror attack.

Okay News reports that President Bola Tinubu has ordered an immediate intensification of security operations across Borno State following the incident, which occurred during evening prayers. The Vice President expressed deep sympathy for the families of the victims and the government of Borno State, reaffirming the administration’s unyielding commitment to national stability. He noted that security agencies are working around the clock to ensure the perpetrators face the full weight of the law.

The Federal Government is reportedly working in close collaboration with local authorities to enhance the protection of vulnerable communities and critical infrastructure.

Vice President Shettima highlighted that providing security agencies with necessary resources remains a top priority to decisively defeat terrorism. Despite this tragedy, he maintained that the country’s resolve to confront insecurity remains unbroken and that the current security architecture will eventually unravel the circumstances surrounding the attack.
