Nigerian music icon, Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, has taken his relationship with Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru, to the next level after a viral video on Thursday captured the moment he proposed to her.

In the widely circulated clip, 2Baba and Osawaru were seen dancing together, surrounded by friends who cheered them on. The highlight of the moment came when the singer pulled out a ring and presented it to Osawaru, before the pair embraced affectionately.

The proposal comes just a day after 2Baba publicly confirmed his romantic relationship with Osawaru, sparking widespread reactions on social media.

The revelation follows 2Baba’s recent separation from his wife, Annie Idibia, with the singer expressing his intention to take things further with Osawaru.

Speculation about their relationship had been mounting after 2Baba was spotted at the Edo State Assembly, fueling rumors of a possible romance. A separate video of the duo at a Lagos club further intensified the discussions.

Addressing the speculation, 2Baba took to Instagram on Tuesday to clarify his stance and defend Osawaru from criticism.

“Allegedly, I have been seeing so many things, so many people coming up with their own false narratives and malicious nonsense after I posted that stuff that I posted. Yes, I posted what I posted.”

He dismissed accusations that Osawaru played a role in his marital issues, stating that she had “nothing to do” with his separation from Annie Idibia.

“Hon. Natasha has been dragged, she has been called all sorts of names, she has been labelled as a home breaker. She is a young brilliant amazing woman and she had nothing to do with what is happening between me and Annie in our marriage.”

Finally, the singer made his intentions clear, saying:

“Yes, I love her, she is amazing, she is cool, I want to marry her.”

The proposal video has since dominated online discussions, with fans and critics sharing mixed reactions. While some congratulated 2Baba and Osawaru, others expressed shock over the development, particularly following his high-profile marriage with Annie Idibia.
