Arsenal vs Man City: What I expect from Aubameyang in Carabao Cup final – Wenger

By Promise Amadi

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has said he expects Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be “much sharper” in the Carabao Cup final, having not featured in two weeks.

Aubameyang became the Gunners’ record signing, when he joined from Borussia Dortmund on transfer deadline day.

He scored on his home debut against Everton, before struggling in defeat to North London rivals Tottenham.

Aubameyang is ineligible in the Europa League, so has not played a competitive game for the Gunners since February 10. But the 28-year-old is ready to return for Sunday’s meeting with Manchester City.

“He has only played twice but on the other hand when he came here he had not played for a while.

“He was not at his best physically and we took advantage of the last two weeks to build him up physically.

“I think he will be much sharper than he was. You could see day after day that he is much sharper than he was two or three weeks ago,” Wenger said.
