What Justice Bulkachuwa said after withdrawing from Presidential election Tribunal

By Muhammad A. Aliyu

Justice Zainab Bulkachuwa, President of the Court of Appeal, on Wednesday personally withdrew from the five-member panel of the Presidential Election Tribunal.

Earlier, Okay Nigeria reported that the PDP, and Atiku Abubakar, filed an application seeking to withdraw her from the Presidential Election Tribunal.

However, the five-member panel of the presidential election dismissed a application on grounds that the said motion lacked any merit to warrant the tribunal to grant it.

Meanwhile, Bulkachuwa personally decided to recuse herself on the ground that the law has been properly stated.

Speaking while announcing her withdrawal, She said, “I am recusing myself from the panel for personal reasons. I am happy that the matter had been settled “based on facts and the law” so that “another female judge will no longer have to face what I have faced.”
