Former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes, has revealed why he doubted the signing of Nigerian international, Odion Ighalo.

Scholes, in an interview with MUTV, noted that he was earlier “dubious” about the signing of Ighalo.

However, the Man United legend said the ex-Super Eagles striker’s performance and goal-scoring for the Premier League club cleared his doubt.

He said: “You have to say his (manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer) three or four signings have been excellent.

“I was a little bit dubious about the Ighalo one, I wasn’t quite sure how that would work, but you have to say that’s worked as well.

“He’s a different kind of player from the players we had, a bit more of a target man, which we miss, and he seems to have settled in really well, scoring goals.”

Okay.ng recalls that Manchester United reached an agreement to extend Odion Ighalo’s loan from Shanghai Shenhua until January 31, 2021.
