Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to President Muhammadu Buhari, Garba Shehu has explained why the President has not made any appointments into his cabinet.

Shehu also called on Nigerians to exercise patience with Buhari saying that the process of choosing ministers should not be rushed.

The presidential aide made the statements on Monday, June 1, 2015, while speaking to journalists in Abuja.

“We are calling for the understanding of Nigerians in this regard as any attempt to rush the process could result in disservice to the administration and the country,” Shehu said.

“I have no idea, absolutely no idea, but it is not something anybody will rush because you know that the National Assembly will have to approve the president’s nominees. The incoming 8th National Assembly must be given the opportunity to fully participate in the process,” he added.

Shehu also explained that Buhari had not moved into the Presidential Villa because it was still undergoing renovation.
