A woman was arrested, charged and convicted of assault after lacing her husband’s heart medication with bug spray in order to make him sick, prosecutors in Maryland said.

Now, the Brooklyn woman who was accused of spraying her husband’s medication with Raid, has been sentenced to time

49-year-old Sandra Jeane Skyrczuk was accused of poisoning in connection with the domestic assault incident involving her husband.

Myron Skyrczuk told police that he had argued with his wife about her drug use before going to a family member’s home for a short period of time.

When he returned, he prepared to take his prescribed medication, but the pills were sticking together and they had a residue on them, which smelled like bug spray.

When Sandra Skyrczuk was searched by police, they found a heart pill in her pocket. During an interview with a detective, she admitted to lacing her husband’s pills with Raid.

Sandra Skyrczuk was charged with poisoning, assault and reckless endangerment. She pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to eight years in prison, which was suspended in exchange for time served.

A judge also ordered the woman to undergo substance abuse and mental health treatments. Myron Skyrczuk said that despite the incident, he still loves his wife.
