Abuja, NIGERIA – The family of Professor Attahiru Jega, the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and former Vice-Chancellor of Bayero University, Kano, has been thrown into mourning following the passing of his wife.
Okay News gathered that the Janazah (Islamic funeral prayer) for the deceased is scheduled to hold today, Sunday, April 5, 2026, immediately after the Zuhr (afternoon) prayer at the National Mosque in Abuja.
An official announcement confirming her demise prayed for Allah to grant her Aljannatul Firdaus and forgive her shortcomings, while also asking for strength and patience for the grieving family to bear the heavy loss.
