The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, has publicly acknowledged making an error in his judgement regarding Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State, urging forgiveness from God and his political family in Rivers State.

Speaking at a civic reception for Chief George Thompson Sekibo in Ogu-Bolo, where the latter was honored for his 36 years of public service, Wike candidly admitted his fallibility and pledged to rectify his mistake at the appropriate time.

“In life, we make mistakes. I have made a mistake. I own it up and I say God forgive me. I have said all of you forgive me. But we will correct it at the appropriate time,” Wike stated.

Acknowledging his humanity and the inevitability of errors, Wike appealed for understanding and urged against any punitive actions. He emphasized his commitment to learning from his misjudgments and striving for rectification.

“I am human. I am bound to make mistakes. So forgive me for making a wrong judgment. So nobody should kill,” Wike affirmed.

Further addressing his supporters, Wike urged resilience in the face of intimidation and asserted their rightful place in the state assembly.

“Don’t be afraid. Nobody will remove you as lawmakers. Most of you don’t understand. This is our work. Our business is to make them fear. That is what I am doing,” Wike reassured.

“We will make them angry every day, and they will continue to make mistakes,” he added, underscoring his strategy to maintain pressure on adversaries and capitalize on their errors.
