The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has urged President Bola Tinubu to release the long-awaited forensic audit report on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), alleging that it indicts former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.

Speaking during an interview on Politics Today aired Friday, Wike claimed the report exposes massive financial misconduct involving Amaechi and his wife. He insisted that if the contents of the report do not confirm his claims, he will resign as Minister.

“Amaechi’s wife was not an industrialist. She has never been, and that is why I call on Mr President to release the forensic audit of NDDC,” Wike said. “Amaechi’s wife’s company, every month, got N4 billion to train Niger Delta women. That is N48 billion in one year alone, and the forensic audit report is there.”

Wike alleged that the report was deliberately buried by former Attorney General Abubakar Malami to protect those involved.

“Who killed it? It was Malami, then the Attorney General. Mr President should help Nigerians. Please, release the forensic audit of the NDDC,” he added.

He continued, “I have said, let Mr President please do us a favour to release that document. If what I am saying is not in the document, I will resign as Minister of the FCT. I said I will resign. I don’t worship office.”

Wike further claimed that the alleged monthly payments to Amaechi’s wife formed the foundation of her status as an “industrialist.”

Beyond the audit, the FCT minister also attacked Amaechi’s academic background, calling his qualifications “less than average.”

He dismissed Amaechi’s claim that a Senator gifted him a Rolls-Royce, saying the luxury car came from a contractor who was handling a large portion of state projects during Amaechi’s tenure as Rivers State governor.
