Grammy-winning artist Wizkid has said he wants fellow singer Asake to perform at his wedding, describing him as one of the most gifted vocalists on the continent.
Okay News reports that the Starboy boss made the remark during a conversation on Apple Music Radio alongside DJ Tunez and Asake.
Wizkid said his admiration for Asake dates back to the first time he heard Omo Ope, adding that one track in particular has become a personal favourite. According to him, Remember is the song he wants played on his big day.
“Omo Ope made me an Asake fan from the first listen. But my favourite Asake song is Remember, I think you have to play that one on my wedding day. It is an amazing record.”
He went on to praise Asake’s artistry, noting that the singer possesses a rare vocal texture that stands out not only in Africa but across the world.
“You are amazing, you have one of the most special voices from home [Africa] and in the world. I have told you that like a million times and I am saying it again on radio. You are a blessing to African music.”
Wizkid is currently in a relationship with his manager and third baby mama, Jada P, with whom he has three children.
He has repeatedly teased plans for a wedding, a topic that continues to generate curiosity among fans.
