Residents of Old Estate, Koforidua on Wednesday arrested a middle aged woman whom they accused of theft.
The accused, who looked badly shaken after she had been caught drew the suspicion of residents who saw her passing by with a hand bag and a 32-inch LCD TV wrapped in a pink bed sheet.
The suspicious residents followed her for a distance before eventually accosting her.A search of the suspect’s hand bag revealed a hammer, chisel, plyers and other implements.
There was even more drama after the Police arrived.
Residents refused to hand over the retrieved property to the Police, insisting they would return the TV to it’s owner themselves because they did not trust the Police with it.
