Woman dies after sustaining injury at Asake’s London concert

A 33-year-old lady, Rebecca Ikumelo has died after being injured in a crowd crush at the Brixton O2 Academy when ticketless fans stormed the venue.

According to Daily mail, Ikumelo died in hospital this morning after being critically injured in the crush, which unfolded during Nigerian singer Asake’s concert on Thursday.

Asake on his Twitter page also confirmed the lady’s death.

He wrote, “I am devastated by the news that Rebecca Ikumelo, who was in a critical condition since Thursday, has sadly passed away.

“My sincerest condolences to her loved ones at this time. Let us please keep her family in our prayers. I have spoken to them and will continue to do so.

“I am overwhelmed with grief and could never have imagined anything like this happening.

Daily mail also reported that the Metropolitan Police said two other women, aged 21 and 23, are still in a critical condition.
