The Super Eagles of Nigeria are gearing up for exciting encounters against familiar foes Ghana and Mali in friendly matches scheduled for later this month.

These matches, slated to be held in Marrakech, Morocco, promise to ignite football enthusiasts’ passion as the two West African giants lock horns on the pitch.

The showdown against Ghana is scheduled for Friday, March 22, at the esteemed Stade Grande de Marrakech, setting the stage for an intense battle between the perennial rivals.

Four days later, on Tuesday, March 26, the Super Eagles will take on Mali in another highly anticipated match at the same venue.

These friendlies come as strategic opportunities for Nigeria to fine-tune its squad and tactics ahead of the rigorous challenges awaiting them in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

With crucial matches against South Africa and Benin Republic looming in June, the Super Eagles are keen to optimize their preparations and ensure they are in peak condition for the qualifiers.

However, amidst the excitement surrounding these friendly fixtures, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is yet to appoint a substantive head coach for the Super Eagles.

Following the departure of Portuguese tactician Jose Peseiro from the position last month, the search for his successor continues as the NFF deliberates on the best candidate to lead the national team forward.
