A photo making the rounds on the internet has shown Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe when he was yet a young man with high hopes.
Late Nnamdi Azikiwe
Benjamin Nnamdi Azikiwe, who is usually referred to as Nnamdi Azikiwe or Zik, was one of the leading figures of modern Nigerian nationalism.
He served as the second and last Governor-General of Nigeria from 1960 to 1963 and the first President of Nigeria from 1963 to 1966, holding the presidency throughout the Nigerian First Republic
Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, fondly known as Zik of Africa was was indeed one of the leading figures of Nigerian nationalism.
The man would have been 112 today, but he died in 1996.
