The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared the immediate past governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, wanted for offences relating to economic and financial crimes.

In a statement released on its official Facebook page on Thursday, the EFCC announced that Bello is wanted for crimes involving a staggering sum of N80.2 billion.

According to the statement, “Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 billion.”

The commission urged anyone with information on his whereabouts to report immediately, saying “Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the commission or the nearest police station.”

The declaration of Bello as wanted by the EFCC marks a significant development in the investigation into his financial dealings during his tenure as governor of Kogi State.
