1,500 primary school teachers are set to be recruited by Katsina State Government as part of efforts to boost the quality of education.

The Katsina Sate Government will soon recruit 1,500 primary school teachers as part of efforts to boost the quality of education.

The Executive Chairman of the State Universal Basic Education Board, Alhaji Lawal Buhari, who disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Katsina, said that candidates had been shortlisted, preparatory to the qualifying test.

“We expect the examination to hold before the end of this month,” he said.

Daura said that candidates that passed the qualifying test would be interviewed before being engaged.

“We are going through all the processes to avoid recruiting unqualified persons,” he said.

The Chairman decried the shortage of teachers in the state and revealed that local government education offices had been directed to submit the number of vacancies in their areas.
