Star striker Victor Osimhen was also off colour in the city he was born and grew up.

Samuel Chukwueze opened scoring for the Flying Eagles after 19 minutes through a brilliant solo effort.

However, Sudan drew level minutes later through Ahmed, before Funsho Bamgboye made it 2-1 on 26 minutes.

However, Sudan again restored parity when they cashed in on a defensive lapse two minutes from the interval through Halid Abdamuleem.

Sudan then took the lead at 3-2 before orji Okonkwo equalized for Nigeria after 67 minutes.

However, the visitors had the last laugh when Nigeria conceded an own goal seven minutes from time.
