The Akwa Ibom State Government has doled out the sum of N10million to the Super Eagles, after they beat Tanzania 1-0 in a 2017 AFCON qualifier played in the state capital, Uyo.

Manchester City’s Kelechi Iheanacho scored the only goal with 12 minutes left, as Nigeria ended their poor qualifying campaign with three points.

“The Eagles got 10 million Naira and Tanzania were given $10,000 by the Akwa Ibom Government,” a team official told journalists.

Earlier in the week, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), reportedly made it clear they will not pay any win bonus for last Saturday’s match.

The football house said it would also refund the flight tickets of the players based abroad.
