The Council of State on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Mr Ibrahim Kpotum Idris as the substantive inspector-general of the Nigeria police.

Addressing State House correspondents after the meeting, Jigawa State Governor Abubakar Badaru, said the IG’s appointment was unanimously approved by the police council.

Badaru said the council expected the IG to continue to do his best for the country.
