President Muhammadu Buhari has commended the Super Eagles for bouncing back from a 2-0 defeat to Croatia to humble Iceland 2-0 in a 2018 World Cup Group D clash.

Ahmed Musa struck two amazing goals and hit the woodwork as the Nigerians produced a commanding showing in the second-half to return to life in Russia.

Buhari said he was particularly delighted at the confidence, discipline, team-work and indomitable spirit displayed by the young Nigerian side.

He urged them to sustain the momentum by going all out against their last group opponents Argentina on Monday.

“I am confident that if our players believe in themselves, they can qualify out of their difficult group and even go very far in the tournament,” because “with determination, nothing is impossible.”
