Former Governor of Abia State Orji Uzor Kalu has said President Muhammadu Buhari is taking steps to end herdsmen killings in Nigeria.

Speaking at a dinner in honour of the outgoing Czech Ambassador to Nigeria, Pavel Mikes, Kalu condemned those accusing Buhari of not making efforts to end the killings.

He said: “It is surprising when people accuse our president of supporting the killer herdsmen. It’s just a sick mind that will say that. It is embarrassing to even hear that.

“It is not possible for anyone directly elected by the people. No president would want to see his people dying.

“President Buhari has taken a new step. He was in Plateau, Benue and other places. He is committed to make sure that these killings stop.”
