FG, Labour In Meeting to Avert Planned Industrial Action On Minimum Wage

The Federal Government and leadership of the organised labour are currently in a meeting at the Ministry of Labour and Employment over new minimum wage for workers.

okay gathered that the meeting is to stop the planned industrial action on implementation of the new minimum wage.

NLC has earlier January 8 to commence the indefinite industrial action over the failure to transmit the new national minimum wage bill to the National Assembly.

Those at the meeting are the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed and Minister of National Planning, Udoma Udo Udoma.

Those representing the organised labour are the president of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comrade Ayuba Wabba, General Secretary of the NLC, Comrade Peter Ozo-Eson, and president of the Trade Union Congress, Comrade Kaigama Bobboi.
