The Department of State Security, DSS, has invited Kaduna-based Islamic cleric, Sheikh Ahmad Abubakar Gumi, for questioning.

Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the DSS, confirmed to Okay.ng that Sheikh Gumi was invited for interrogation by the service but he did not give a reason for the summon.

He said: “Sheikh Gumi was invited by the Service. It’s not out of place for the Service to invite any person of interest”.

However, the cleric had in a recent interview alleged that some military operatives actively connive with bandits to wreak havoc on the country.

Sheikh Gumi had severally called on the Federal Government to grant amnesty to bandits.
