Three suspects have been paraded by the Lagos State Police Command for allegedly beating to death a prostitute, Hannah Saliu, and setting her corpse ablaze for keeping a copy of the Holy Qur’an in her room.

The Lagos State Police Public Relations, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident.

According to SP Hundeyin, “The case is at the State Criminal Investigation Department, Yaba, and three suspects have been charged to court. The incident happened in April.”

Okay.ng gathered that one of the suspects, who patronised Hannah after having sex with her, paid her N1,000 for the service.

The lady was said to have left her room when she suddenly discovered that her N5,000 had gone missing.

She reportedly ran after the customer and accused him of stealing her money, an action which culminated into a heated argument.

The customer was said to have mobilised his friends to Hannah’s room to search for the missing money.

In the course of the search, a Qur’an was found underneath Hannah’s room.

She was questioned for possessing the Quran while being a prostitute. The customer and his accomplices were infuriated by the discovery. Consequently, she was beaten to death and her corpse set ablaze.

Okay.ng has learned that the incident happened at Alaba Rago, an area where many Northerners reside.
Hannah was also of Northern origin.

The incident happened in April and the three suspects involved have accordingly been charged to court.
