San Francisco-based OpenAI has announced the launch of ChatGPT Plus, a premium version of its popular chatbot.

The company claims that ChatGPT Plus offers a premium experience with faster response times, priority access to new features and improvements, and access to ChatGPT during peak times.

OpenAI is launching the service in the United States only, for now, and is inviting people on its waiting list to use the new product. The company intends to expand access and support to other countries and regions shortly.

“Since launching ChatGPT as a research preview, we’ve received valuable feedback from millions of users and have made several important updates,” said OpenAI in a statement.

“We’ve seen users find value across a range of professional use-cases, including drafting & editing content, brainstorming ideas, programming help, and learning new topics.”

OpenAI intends to improve and broaden ChatGPT Plus’ availability based on its users’ feedback and requirements.

The company is actively considering options for less expensive plans, business plans, and data packs to make its services more accessible. The subscription pricing model for ChatGPT Plus is $20 per month.

Despite the launch of ChatGPT Plus, OpenAI says it will continue to provide free access to its original ChatGPT chatbot.

The company values its free users and believes that the subscription pricing model will help ensure that free access remains broadly available.

“We’re excited to offer ChatGPT Plus as a premium experience for our users, while still ensuring that our original ChatGPT chatbot remains accessible to all,” said OpenAI.
