President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the immediate handover of the office of the Executive Vice Chairman (EVC) of the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) from Professor Mohammed Sani Haruna to the next most senior officer in the organization.

This is coming after the President reversed the extension in office granted to the EVC, which would have kept him in office till 2025.

According to the President, Professor Haruna had already completed his two tenures of five years each, and it was time for him to hand over to the next person in line.

In a press statement signed by the Director of Information, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Willie Bassey, the President appreciated the contributions of Professor Haruna in the development of the engineering infrastructure sub-sector of the economy, and wished him success in his future endeavours.
