The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) in Ogun State expressed grief over the tragic killing of Pastor Kayode Oluwakemi by kidnappers who had earlier abducted seven worshippers.

The incident took place during a vigil at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Desires of Nations Parish, in Abule-Ori, Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

The General Secretary of CAN, Dr. Stephen Adeyemi, called on the government to enhance security measures around worship centers.

He expressed concern about the repeated attacks on worshippers in their own sanctuaries and urged the government to address the issue of insecurity.

The So-Safe Corps and the police confirmed the incident, with the corps reporting the successful rescue of the kidnapped victims and the elimination of one of the kidnappers. The police are currently pursuing the remaining suspects.
