The Police Recruitment Board has announced that the practical tests and medical screening for specialist applicants in the ongoing recruitment of Constables into the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) will commence on April 16.

According to Ikechukwu Ani, the spokesperson of the Police Service Commission (PSC), the practical tests and medical screening, which were initially scheduled to start on April 16, will last for two weeks.

Applicants are expected to undergo practical tests in various fields, including band, carpentry, communication, driving, electrical, information technology, masonry, marine technology, mechanic, medical assistance, painting, plumbing, tiling, printing, welding, and veterinary assistance.

The practical tests will be conducted simultaneously with the medical screening at 20 locations nationwide, comprising the 17 zonal command headquarters and the command headquarters of Kaduna, Yobe, and Zamfara states.

Specialist applicants from these states will undertake their practical tests in their respective states of origin.

Dr. Solomon Arase, the Chairman of the Police Service Commission, expressed the Commission’s commitment to restoring the Nigeria Police Force to its former glory by ensuring that specialists selected are the best available.

Dr. Arase emphasized the importance of returning to an era where the Force handled most of its ancillary services internally, boasting seasoned professionals in various fields such as mechanics, masonry, engineering, and tailoring.

He assured that the practical tests for specialist applicants will be conducted meticulously to ensure that only the most qualified individuals are selected to join the Nigeria Police Force.
