Angry Youths Revolt After Security Operatives Kill Trader in Jos

Tension arose in Bukur town, Jos South local government area of Plateau State, after security operatives enforcing a ban on roadside trading shot dead one person and injured two others. The incident sparked a revolt by angry youths, who blocked roads and burnt tyres, causing fear among residents.

According to the youth leader of Bukuru Community, Bello Muhammad, the security personnel deployed by JMBD descended on traders, shooting three people, killing one and injuring two. The deceased’s father, Musa Aliyu, said his son, 30, was shot while transacting cellphone business in the area.

The police command’s spokesperson, DSP Alabo Alfred, has not responded to inquiries about the incident. The situation remains tense in the area, with youths demanding justice for the killing.
