The House of Representatives announced the sudden passing of Honourable Olaide Akinremi, representing Ibadan North Federal Constituency, on Wednesday morning. Akinremi, known as Jagaban, died after a brief illness at the age of 51.
Akinremi served as Chairman of the House Committee on Science Research Institutions and was a dedicated public servant, known for his commitment to his constituency and the country. He was a strong advocate for policies promoting social welfare, economic growth, and scientific research.
Speaker of the House, Abbas Tajudeen, expressed sadness over the loss, praising Akinremi’s contributions to legislative work, particularly in science and research. The House of Representatives extended its condolences to the Akinremi family, the Ibadan North Federal Constituency, the Government and People of Oyo State, and the APC family.
