An attack on Jakana Police Station in Borno State by suspected Boko Haram terrorists has resulted in the deaths of a police driver and a woman. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, July 28, 2024, when the terrorists stormed the police station, engaging security troops for hours before fleeing.

According to sources, the terrorists set ablaze two patrol vehicles belonging to the police and Civilian Joint Task Force, as well as a motorcycle. They also carted away arms and ammunition. The attack on the police station, located 35 km along the Maiduguri-Damaturu Road, has raised concerns about the security situation in the region.

The Chairman of Konduga Council Area, Abbas Ali Abari, confirmed the incident but noted that details of casualties were still being gathered. Efforts to reach the police spokesman for the state, Kenneth Daso, were unsuccessful at the time of filing this report.
