Edo State Deputy Governor, Marvellous Godwins Omobayo, has reaffirmed his position as the authentic Deputy Governor, despite ongoing litigation. He stated that he remains focused on supporting Governor Godwin Obaseki and performing his official duties as guaranteed by the Constitution.
Omobayo made this declaration during a solidarity visit by transport unions, including the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Road Transport Employers Association of Nigeria (RTEAN). He expressed appreciation for their support and loyalty to the Obaseki-led administration.
The unions, in turn, passed a vote of confidence in Omobayo, recognizing him as the legitimate Deputy Governor. They expressed optimism that the Obaseki administration would end well and finish strong.
This development comes amidst litigation relating to the Office of the Deputy Governor, which Omobayo stated does not distract him from his duties.
