As the news flies on Saturday September 7, 2024 about the indefinite leave of absence of Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Media and publicity, also Presidential envoy on climate action.

okay.ng reports that the Presidential spokesman tendered his indefinate leave of absence due to health concerns “vexatious medical situation” which he has deliberated with his family.

In an investigation by okay.ng, a source close to the Presidency stated that Ajuri Ngelale was fired but was rather allowed to resign in order to have a safe landing and to wade him off embarrassment.

The Bone of Contention With Onanuga

There has been a feud between the office of Ajuri Ngelale and Bayo Onanuga.

Ngelale and Onanuga conflict started at the aftermath of President Tinubu being elected as Nigeria’s President, Ngelale being in the Presidency as the senior adviser on public affairs since 2019 during Ex-President Buhari’s tenure, Ngelale acclaimed superiority of himself to Onanuga.

Ngelale, 38 year old who began his career with AIT in 2000s, in which Onanuga a 67 year old Man who was the former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) started his career in 1980s, the issue on ground is that Ngelale was special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Onanuga special adviser on information and strategy.

Inside sources assert that the role was quite confusing for civil servants, as the roles seemed similar in nature.

Many people found Ngelale disrespectful and arrogant, inside sources confirmed.

As a matter of fact due to the similarity of office, Ajuri Ngelale and Bayo Onanuga duty was considered duplicated as civil servants decide to submit to one while neglecting the other.
