The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has announced that its members are scheduled to meet with Dangote Refinery this week to discuss the direct procurement of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, and the possibility of price reductions, Okay.ng reports.

Chief Chinedu Ukadike, IPMAN’s spokesperson, made the announcement in a recent statement, expressing optimism about the potential benefits of direct petrol lifting from Dangote for independent marketers.

Ukadike acknowledged the challenges facing the nation’s oil and gas industry despite the commencement of Dangote’s petrol distribution.

He emphasized that the effective distribution of petrol remains a hurdle, but the upcoming meeting offers hope for independent marketers to gain direct access to Dangote’s supply chain.

“There is a meeting scheduled for this week between Dangote and IPMAN,” Ukadike stated. “We are happy that Dangote has set on a new course in terms of looking to other stakeholders to distribute its products.”

“It is now distributing to major marketers and we are hopeful that with time it will start distributing to independent marketers.”
