Armed Robbers Intrude Ibadan Varsity Hostel, Steals Valuable Items

On Saturday morning, armed robbers stole students of the University of Ibadan, Oyo State valuables amounting to thousands of naira in an operation on the Awolowo Hall of Residence.

Reports has it that items lost were mobile telephone handsets, pieces of jewellery, clothing and others.

A student, speaking without disclosing identity, stated, “Aside from the lost items, the affected students were tortured during the raids that lasted for few hours.”

Another report buttressed that “the security section was alerted by the screaming of the affected students as they hurriedly swung into action.

“Some of the suspects who were arrested have been handed over to the police at Sango Police Station.”

The Institution Public Relations Officer, Joke Akinpelu, stated, “The reports from the Hall wardens stated that the robbers carted away the mobile telephone handsets of the students.”

As of the time of filing this report, the Oyo Police Public Relations Officer, Adewale Osifeso, could not be contacted for feedback.
