Jake Epelle, the founder of TAF Africa, has issued a passionate appeal to Nyesom Wike, urging him to reconsider his approach to political conflicts to avoid causing harm to ordinary citizens.

Addressing Wike directly, Epelle stressed the importance of safeguarding public welfare. “Don’t let your children die. Don’t let people stop going to school. Don’t let people stop getting access to social services,” he implored.

Epelle, positioning Wike as a political elder, encouraged him to embrace reconciliation over division, using a vivid metaphor to drive home his point. “Slap him with your right, draw him back with your left,” he said.

The activist also directed his caution toward Siminalayi Fubara, advising him to be mindful of his actions and reminding him of the weight of historical judgment.

“Mr. Fubara, be very careful what you do because history will remember you either for good or bad,” Epelle warned.

He revealed that he had made efforts to mediate between the opposing camps and expressed a willingness to meet with Wike, just as he previously reached out to Fubara.

Citing Wike’s past accomplishments, particularly his role in enacting Nigeria’s first national policy on albinism, Epelle urged him not to tarnish his legacy.

“Please, Mr. Nyesom Wike, don’t destroy your own legacies. Don’t be the one who gathers and scatters,” he pleaded.
