The Osun State Government has vehemently refuted allegations from opposition parties claiming a collapse of local government services, asserting that essential social programs remain fully operational across the state. In a strongly worded statement released Monday, Governor Ademola Adeleke’s spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, denounced the opposition’s claims as “fabricated falsehoods” designed to mislead the public.

“Despite the opposition’s campaign of misinformation, we categorically state that health, education, and social documentation services are running smoothly throughout Osun’s 30 local governments and Area Council,” Rasheed declared. The statement highlighted Governor Adeleke’s commitment to efficient governance, citing firsthand evidence of thriving local services. “Our schools and health centers are serving the community effectively, evidenced by the high patronage.

Governor Adeleke recently witnessed successful childbirths at Telemu and Ido Osun health centers during an on-site visit,” Rasheed noted.
The government also touted its progress in digitizing administrative functions, emphasizing the seamless delivery of online services. “Since 2023, thousands of residents have accessed state of origin and local government identification services online, demonstrating our commitment to modernizing citizen services,” the statement asserted.

Challenging the opposition’s narrative, the government questioned the logic behind their claims. “If these services were truly non-functional, how did the opposition manage to conduct their ‘comedic visitations’ and find them open?” Rasheed asked. The government urged the public to disregard the opposition’s “malicious propaganda,” reaffirming Governor Adeleke’s unwavering commitment to delivering good governance and democratic dividends. “As a leader dedicated to the people, Governor Adeleke will continue to prioritize the well-being of Osun residents, guided by the principles of rule of law and accountability,” the statement concluded.
