Nigerian Afrobeats star, David Adeleke, known as Davido, has disclosed that he and his wife, Chioma Rowland, shared a home for eight years prior to their formal marriage.

In an interview on The Bootleg Kev Podcast, Davido recounted meeting Chioma during his university years, attributing the ease of their marital transition to their extensive period of living together.

“My wife and I had already established a life together well before our wedding,” Davido stated. “We met during my college days, and fortunately, we moved in together relatively early on—about eight years before we officially tied the knot.”

While acknowledging the familiarity of their shared history, Davido also recognized the unique challenges that come with marriage. “The shift was smooth, but marriage is a different ball game entirely,” he remarked.

He further highlighted Chioma’s steadfast support throughout their relationship, particularly her understanding of the demands of his career.

“Throughout our time living together, I was constantly touring and on the road,” Davido explained. “She always understood the nature of my work and recognized that I thrive when I’m working. She knows my passion for music, just as she loves being in the kitchen.”
