Zidane Gets Hero’s Welcome From Fans as He Watches Son Play

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Football legend Zinedine Zidane was warmly applauded by fans in Rabat after he appeared on the stadium’s big screen during Algeria’s Africa Cup of Nations clash against Sudan. The moment quickly became one of the night’s highlights, as supporters acknowledged the former France captain and World Cup winner with loud cheers.

Zidane was in the stands to watch his son, Luca Zidane, who started in goal for Algeria in their Group E fixture. Luca delivered a calm and assured performance between the posts as Algeria cruised to a convincing 3–0 victory, strengthening their position in the group and sending an early statement at the tournament.

While Algeria’s dominant display remained the main focus, Zidane’s presence added a special family touch to the occasion.

The ovation underlined the enduring respect the former Real Madrid coach commands across world football, even as a new chapter unfolds with his son on the international stage.
