Okay News reports that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee has strongly denied the forgery accusation made by its National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, insisting that he personally signed the official letters sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the party’s national convention.

Addressing journalists in Abuja on Monday, the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, clarified that Anyanwu’s signature was affixed in the presence of several top-ranking officials, including state governors and members of the NWC.

Ologunagba stated that the signed documents included the formal notification to INEC regarding the upcoming convention slated for November 15 and 16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“The Secretary personally signed all relevant correspondence, including the letter to INEC, just hours before the 102nd National Executive Committee meeting on August 25,” he said.

He explained that the signing was done before key figures such as Governors Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Dauda Lawal (Zamfara), former Senate President Bukola Saraki, and former Minister Tanimu Turaki.

Ologunagba added that during the NEC session, Governor Bala Mohammed, who heads the PDP Governors’ Forum, publicly confirmed that all documents relating to the convention had been properly signed and submitted.

He reaffirmed the party’s commitment to transparency and internal cohesion, noting that the leadership remains focused on ensuring a smooth and credible convention.

Further details are expected as the situation develops.
