The Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has directed the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) to immediately address technical glitches affecting the ongoing recruitment process into the nation’s paramilitary agencies.
The directive comes amid growing complaints from applicants who reported difficulties tracking their application status weeks after completing different stages of the recruitment.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Friday, Tunji-Ojo acknowledged the issues and attributed them to the ongoing upload of applicant information.
He stated, “Following recent complaints from applicants into the paramilitary agencies who are still unable to determine their fate due to the ongoing upload of information, I have directed the Secretary of the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board to ensure that all uploads are completed immediately.”
Okay News reports that the CDCFIB had earlier announced that applicants could begin checking their recruitment status from Friday. However, several users experienced system errors and login challenges on the recruitment portal.
Some applicants complained that after entering their login details, the website either failed to respond or displayed job categories different from their initial applications.
A social media user, identified as @msg_snr, shared a screenshot showing discrepancies in the job listing, writing, “The applicant applied for NIS, and to this point, the guarantor’s form is showing Fire Service. Yet, on the dashboard, it showed his NIS entries for ASI II (General Duties). Is this a glitch or a typo?”
Another user, @Prince3255, posted an error message screenshot, alleging that recruitment slots had already been distributed among top officials and politicians.
Despite these challenges, the ministry has assured applicants that the issues will be resolved swiftly to ensure fairness and transparency.
Okay News had earlier reported that about 1.9 million Nigerians applied for roughly 30,000 available positions across the four paramilitary services.
