A small fire incident was recorded late Tuesday night at the Terminus Market in Jos, Plateau State, with authorities confirming that the situation was swiftly brought under control.
The Jos Main Market Authority said the fire affected only a limited section of the market and did not escalate into a major incident.
According to the management, firefighters from both the Federal Fire Service and the Plateau State Fire Service responded promptly, preventing the fire from spreading further. Security agencies were also deployed to cordon off the affected area, ensuring the protection of traders’ goods and maintaining calm within the market.
While the exact cause of the fire has not yet been determined, preliminary observations suggest it may have been linked to an unattended heat source.
