Fayose-4-298x300

Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti has gotten a favorable judgement as Nigeria’s Supreme Court has dismissed the suit by the All Progressives Congress, challenging his eligibility to contest the 21 June, 2014 election in the state.
Today, the court ruled that Fayose’s impeachment in 2006 was not enough to unseat him as the elected governor.
The unanimous decision was taken by a seven-man panel led by Justice John Fabiyi,
In the lead judgment delivered by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta, the apex court dismissed all the grounds of appeal filed by the petitioner – the All Progressives Congress.

The APC alleged irregularities, intimidation of its leaders by the military, ineligibility of Fayose to stand for the election in 2014.They also alleged he forged his Higher National Diploma certificate presented to INEC.

All ths=ese were struck out for lack of merit
