Olu Maintain had Nigerians of all ages shaking their hands, stamping their feet and pointing their fingers to the sky with his single ‘Yahooze’. That same year he released his first solo album ‘Maintain Reloaded’. Eight years later, the pop star is set to release a new album titled ‘Choosen One’. This news comes following the release of his latest highlife single ‘Cinderella’ featuring 2face Idibia.

In the past eight years, Mr Olu hasn’t been just been sitting underground; in 2009 he release an album with Kentro World titled ‘With All Due Respect Press Play’. In 2012 he released ‘Nawti’, a year later he released a video for ‘Nawti’ which starred reality TV star Natalie Nunn. In 2013, he featured former G-Unit member Oliva on ‘Hypnotize Me’. Inspired by the World Cup and a trip to Brazil, in 2014 he recorded ‘Olu in Brazil’.

Olu Maintain has been in the industry for 17 years. He was a member of the group Maintain which had hit singles like ‘Dommy Tilla‘ (1998) and ‘I Catch Cold’ (2002).

The master of ‘Ennuff Effizzi’ disclosed in an interview on Naija FM (yesterday 24 June, 2015) that his album is due to drop by August or September of this year. He shared that each letter of the ‘Choosen One’ title represents the first letter of the name of each song on the 10-track album. He disclosed that the album would feature Timaya, Yemi Alade, Cynthia Morgan and Victoria Kimani.

While speaking on the indigenous radio station, the ‘Yahooze’ crooner said the ‘Cinderella’ video would be debuting around his birthday in July adding that “this video go worry o, this video na the best video when I don ever do for my life”.

Mr Nawti will be dropping two more singles before releasing the chosen album.
