The story of a sudden demise of Diepreye Alamieyeseigha, a former governor of Bayelsa state, currently has many unclear circumstances.
Esueme Dan-Kikili, the Bayelsa state commissioner for information, confirmed that the ex-governor died of cardiac arrest at a Port Harcourt hospital on Saturday, October 10. The 62-year-old politician has been in coma for the last two days of his life.
Nigerians were divided by the news. Some mourned the late governor and tagged his death as a ‘great loss to Bayelsa’. See tweets below.
I feel so sad for Diepreye Alamieyeseigha. Apparently, he couldn’t seek medical attention outside Nigeria for the fear of being caught.
