Despite the initial piteous performance of Kanye’s West new Album Life of Pablo, selling just 28,000, good times are in for the rapper as it has made it to the number 1 spot in the world on the Billboard’s 200.

The rapper who at the beginning insisted that the album be streamed only on Tidal and his own site, finally agreed to have it dispersed to other streaming services and also available for commercial downloading thereby providing a broader platform for fans to get the LP which invariably has helped with sales, its appearance and finally ascent to the top on the Billboard 200. There are no individual tracks available for purchase for TLOP, therefore, streams and whole album sales were the only metrics measured by Billboard.

Kim Kardashian’s husband took to twitter to celebrate this feat in traditional Yeezus fashion not forgetting to mention that it was the first album to go number 1 off streaming and is now planning a tour.

The one week sales of TLOP is second only to that of Purpose, the most recent album from Justin Bieber, which netted 67,000 SEA (Streaming Equivalent Albums) units in its first week of release in November 2015.

The Life of Pablo marks Kanye’s seventh consecutive Number One album, following Late Registration, Graduation, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Watch the Throne and Yeezus. Billboard reports that TLOP’s one-week stream totals are
