FCT Minister’s Assistant Nosike Ogbuenyi Shot In Abuja

Right after the Inspector General of the Nigerian Police Force has declared this Christmas “crime-free”, the news surface of FCT Minister’s assistant Nosike Ogbuenyi being shot and robbed in Abuja.

According to Leadership and the Cable, in the early hours of December 24th, Senator Bala Mohammed’s Special Assistant on media, Mr. Nosike Ogbuenyi, was ambushed by suspected armed robbers near the Dantata overhead bridge along the Umaru Yar’Adua expressway.

The incident was confirmed by the Senator Mohammed’s Chief Press Secretary, who disclosed that the robbers have shot at Mr. Ogbuenyi at a close range and wounded him on the right leg. The criminals took off with his official car (a black colour 2011 model Toyota Corolla salon), two Samsung handsets, one Window 7 HP Laptop, two hard disc memory devices, three USB devices, one large photo book, bank documents, two ATM cards and office records.

Ogbuenyi, who was political editor of ThisDay before joining the FCT administration as special assistant on media to the minister, is now recuperating in the hospital.

According to eyewitnesses, the robbers headed towards Gwarinpa-Zuba road through Dantata bridge with the snatched car.
