ABC Transport Reports ₦926.8 Million Pre-Tax Profit in Nine Months, Driven by Revenue Growth and Cost Efficiency

ABC Transport Plc has posted a pre-tax profit of ₦926.8 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2025, marking a dramatic turnaround from the ₦1.3 million recorded in the same period last year.

The company’s unaudited financial statement reveals a 363% year-on-year surge in post-tax profit to ₦585.6 million, underscoring a strong recovery in operational performance.

The impressive results were fueled by:

  • A 48.04% increase in revenue to ₦11.92 billion
  • A 55.62% rise in gross profit to ₦2.54 billion
  • A 37.18% boost in other operating income to ₦424.8 million
  • A 17.4% reduction in finance costs to ₦299.47 million

Load and waybill income contributed ₦3.67 billion, haulage operations ₦3.60 billion, and transport earnings ₦2.3 billion. Despite a 46.11% rise in direct costs due to higher fuel and maintenance expenses, ABC Transport maintained profitability through better cost management and increased franchise income, which accounted for ₦343.1 million of other operating income.

The company’s balance sheet also showed significant growth:

  • Total assets rose 97.3% to ₦13.97 billion
  • Property, plant, and equipment accounted for ₦10.1 billion
  • Total liabilities increased to ₦12.11 billion, driven by trade payables and new borrowings
  • Total equity improved to ₦1.8 billion, supported by a rebound in retained earnings to ₦33.3 million from a deficit of ₦967.1 million

ABC Transport’s financial rebound reflects strategic revenue diversification and disciplined cost control, positioning the company for sustained profitability in the transport and logistics sector.
