Abia Gov’t Places N25m Bounty on Killers of Soldiers

The Abia State Government has offered a N25 million reward for information leading to the arrest of those responsible for the killing of five soldiers in the Aba area of the state. The soldiers were attacked and killed by gunmen suspected to be members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its armed wing, the Eastern Security Network (ESN).

The state government condemned the attack and promised to work with security agencies to ensure the perpetrators are brought to justice. The military has also vowed to retaliate against the attackers, promising a fierce response.

The attack, which occurred at a military checkpoint in Obingwa Local Government Area, also resulted in the death of six civilians. The military has confirmed the incident and is currently investigating.

The South-East Governors Forum has also condemned the attack, urging security agencies to apprehend those responsible.
